Lifecycle and first-run repair

The final first-run and lifecycle repair release. Everything reported against 1.0.0 and 1.0.1 around installing, launching and closing the app is closed out here.

Fixed

  • Restored the fully branded Optimal installer.
  • Fixed installed builds starting without opening the main window.
  • Made application shutdown explicit when the main Optimal window closes.
  • Cancels active background sampling when the application closes.
  • Forces onboarding after the installer launches Optimal for the first time.
  • Improved installer terms readability, spacing, contrast, and acceptance controls.

  • Installation does not apply tweaks, remove applications, or run maintenance. Optimal only prepares changes after you review and confirm them in the application.

First-run repair

A patch for the first-run experience reported in 1.0.0.

Fixed

  • Restored the fully branded Optimal installer instead of the partially styled default wizard.
  • Fixed the installed application launching without opening its main window.

First stable release

Optimal 1.0 is the first stable Windows 11 x64 release.

Added

  • 74 validated controls organized across tweaks, debloat, gaming, software, maintenance, networking, advanced controls, and repair workflows.
  • Hardware-aware onboarding and NVIDIA profile recommendations.
  • Simple and advanced catalog modes with search, categories, current-state detection, warnings, sources, dependencies, and conflicts.
  • Required fresh restore point before every applied plan.
  • Registry backups, operation backups, run journals, progress reporting, restart guidance, and supported reverts.
  • Self-contained installer, standalone executable, portable ZIP, and SHA-256 checksums.

Safety

  • No automatic changes at startup. Every plan remains reviewable and user-confirmed.
  • The binaries are not currently code-signed, so Windows SmartScreen may warn. Download only from the GitHub release and verify the matching SHA-256 checksum.

Older builds, their checksums and their signed artifacts stay published — nothing is ever pulled.
